Anybody who is a follower of Cricket wud have guessed for who i am going to write about, in this blog. The most stylish, flamboyant and aggressive player of the Off side and a master stroke player who recently took retirement from international cricket. Yes i am talking about none other than Sourav Ganguly.
I always admired him not just bcoz he was extremely good cricketer but bcoz he was very very strong mentally and very determined. I always looked up to him as a role model though i can hardly hold the bat properly :). Now he will not be seen in international arena, but he will still rule a million hearts.

Scooter '72
The first scooter in our family and probably the first in the neighbourhood as well since it wasn't long before scooters were launched. So it was an object of pride and something to be flaunted. Light green colored and 150 cc engine with 3 gears, its name was Bajaj 150, though not many people wud know that Bajaj Priya was initially known as Bajaj 150.
If I remember correctly my Grandpa never drove it, but almost everybody in the next 2 generations learnt scooter driving on that. And I tried my hand on that when I was in class 6th. But as we grew old we bought new bikes and scooters and we(me and my brother) as young men were ashamed of driving that outdated and not so "Kool" vehicle.
Since nobody was using it for years, recently my aunt gave it to a poor man, we knew, for free, beacuse everybody felt that it was unsaleable. Though i dont remember when i drove that scooter last, but after that news i somehow felt that something precious was lost, it felt like that our legacy was bequeathed to somebody else :(
No doubt that scooter didnt look stylish but its voice was amazing as robust as it wud have been when it was first taken out of the showroom and that sound is still clear in my mind. I still have a clear image of how i started driving that and got stuck in mud on my very first drive.
Now that thing no more belongs to us and for me the leagcy has become a sonorous sounding memory.

A bad day is a bad day !
It started as usual and i was in office by 9 like a good school kideee. Did some of my coding by noon as i was supposed to have review after lunch. It started by 1:30 and it was no better than any other review. I have always been a reckless coder, and this one should be good enough to prove me reck-lesser coder, lesser here doesnt mean less rather points to my little knowledge of english or probably my chutzpah to invent words on a bad day.
So that review ended only by 4:30, i was totally exhausted more by seeing the number of mistakes i had done. Then quite determined to fix all of them i reached my desk, and infact in 2hrs i had done quite a lot.
But it was my bad day, so how could something good happen, i was so drained off that i forgot to save my changes and closed the window :( and lost my 2 hrs of work. Having no choice left but to leave for the day, i took my bag and reached the parking, only to find my bike covered with dust, as some roof repair work was going on just above my bike. And over that some idiot had taken away the cloth that i keep in my bike to clean it sometimes. Then i told myself jeans look better when they are dirty and started the bike. Kind of day i had, i could easily predict that i wud be stuck in traffic and the cook wud run away finding nobody at home. My predciation, dead right but only on a bad day.

The Rainbow !
Its been almost 3 yrs since i have been in Blore, the hi-tech city where u get rains when u expect them the least. And surprisingly, last thursday, i had my first rendezvous with the Rainbow. And it was only after seeing it, i could realise that its been more than my stint here that i have not seen a rainbow. Its not bcoz that rainbow wud not have appeared in the skies of blore but more bcoz of the so called hi tech life we are accustomed to, which hardly gives us the opportunity to savour those small things of life.
I wud call myself lucky, that i sneaked out of office early that day, and enjoyed those 'chand lamhe' with the rainbow and the drizzle.
